R.I.S.E Edutainment presents Second Annual: 416RISE
"416RISE is a Celebration of Art, the Power of Edutainment and Toronto's Enriched Culture." Our 2nd year Anniversary “416RISE” will take place on April 16th 2014, (7pm-10:30pm). The event is a celebration of Toronto’s impact in the Arts & Culture among all demographics. The event will take place at the Beautiful Daniels Spectrum (585 Dundas St. E). We will attract the city through positive engagement, live performances, auditions, panel discussions & huge networking opportunities.)
416RISE will begin with the Arts Enrichment panel with some Toronto’s vital community leaders/arts organizations. The panel will include Che Kothari Founder of Manifesto, Amy Hosotsuji of GYC Toronto, Giancarlos Falcioni Business Dean at the Remix Project & Michael Prosserman Founder of UNITY Charity. The Panel will follow up with a key note speech and live performances including international trailblazing poet, D’bi Young & Canadian Hip Hop Pioneer Maestro Fresh Wes. The Arts Enrichment Panel will be an opportunity for young entrepreneurs & art lovers to learn from some of Toronto’s brightest minds.
Performances will be multi-creative Edutainment pieces; the concept of merging education and entertainment. It’s utilizing the arts to empower, inspire and engage through creative expression. D'bi Young is an internationally celebrated African-Jamaican-Canadian dubpoet, monodramatist, and educator. She is the published author of two collections of poetry, eight plays, two dub poetry albums, and The Sankofa Trilogy. Maestro Fresh Wes is known as Canada’s Hip hop Pioneer with his debut smash hit in 1989, “Let Your Back Bone Slide”, had airwaves bumping beyond Canadian borders. The author of “Stick To your Vision,” Maestro is still creating relevant music, getting the respect he deserves 25 years later.
We anticipate 400 patrons, among them, some of Toronto’s inspirations in the Arts Community. It’ll be a great opportunity to network with entrepreneurs and emerging/professional artists.
